White brick exterior, heavy timber wood awnings, and a contemporary interior
Jackson Thornton, a certified accounting firm, found they had outgrown their existing Auburn, AL, office. At the same time, the client recognized an opportunity. A new, welcoming, and functional office can be used to recruit and retain both employees and clients. To begin with, they located a parcel in a recent commercial development to construct a new office. In order to maximize office space on the lot, a two story design was developed.
The exterior features painted brick, architectural shingles, and heavy timber awnings. Painted lap siding adds further architectural character to the exterior, including the entry tower and covered porch.
Inside, the front-of-house experience feels luxurious for clients and does not require them to pass through employee work areas. Upon entering, clients are greeted by a lobby clad in porcelain tile floors and a custom wood reception desk. Additionally, grand lights hang above the desk, with a custom logo wall beyond. Also, the guest waiting area features a hospitality station. Two conference rooms are available, together with a dedicated client restroom.
Moreover, the space contains glass front private offices, as well as space for open work stations. In addition, the training room features custom graphics on the glass. The floor is a mix of luxury vinyl plank and carpet tile. This allows for ease of maintenance and defines different zones in the open concept areas.
Finally, the Owner often hosts events and requested a larger break room. The room features ample counter space for catering and capacity for tables and chairs. Also, double doors open onto a covered porch for those wanting to enjoy some fresh air on their break.
Jackson Thornton now has an office space that meets its current daily needs. In addition, it provides room to grow and serves as a recruitment tool for new clients and employees.
