A Southern Styling Exterior, Large Heavy Timber Trusses, and a Open Layout
The Guardian Credit Union branch in Pine Level, AL serves as a new prototype design for smaller markets. The design is a collaboration with Method-1 Interiors. The building contains 2,300 SF of interior space, plus a covered front entry. Also, there are teller and ATM drive through lanes for member convenience.
The exterior references regional architecture. The materials include a standing seam metal roof, lap siding, and stone veneer. Large windows allow abundant natural light to enter. In addition, the windows provide views for both comfort and security. Moreover, clearstory windows in the lobby fill the space with light from above.
On the interior, the layout features vaulted ceilings, heavy timber beams, and wood wall paneling. The central lobby contains curved digital media walls, serving as a backdrop to each teller pod. The curved walls have built-in digital screens and decorative LED lighting. There are two teller pods, each with a shared ITM. The waiting area includes lounge seating, a hospitality station, and a kid’s play area. Private offices are angled and contain storefront glazing to help with visibility into the lobby. Support areas include a work room and breakroom, with kitchenette.
Blue accents add architecture character to the space and help to echo Guardian’s blue branding. The member lounge includes a custom gypsum wave feature wall. Finally, the flooring is mainly LVT, with carpet tiles in the offices and lounge.
